How it’s sealed, what it records, how to check it yourself — and what it doesn’t claim.

The time is ours
The time on a Vouch is our server’s clock at the moment it’s sealed. The phone’s clock is never used.
Filmed with no signal? The time is when it seals, not when you filmed.

The ID is made at the seal
Every Vouch gets an 8-character ID the moment it’s sealed, like 2TED-QDRH.
IDs never use O, 0, I, L or 1, so they’re easy to read out loud.

Then it’s locked
Once it’s sealed, nobody outside Vouchover can change the photos, videos, name or time. The database has no door for it.
Inside Vouchover, nothing in our code changes a sealed Vouch’s photos, videos, name or time.
Nothing deletes a sealed Vouch. There is no delete — not in the database, not in the app.
Every file has a fingerprint. Anyone can check it.
When a Vouch seals, our server reads every photo and video and makes a SHA-256 fingerprint of it. The fingerprint is stored on the sealed record, shown on the Check a Vouch page, and listed on the paper.
Change one pixel of a file and its fingerprint comes out different. So anyone holding the file can check it’s the one that was sealed.

What a Vouch shows. What it keeps to itself.
Shown to anyone with the link
- The ID and the seal time (our server’s clock).
- The item’s name and who made it: their name, and their company if they gave one.
- The place, in words, like Calgary, AB, with one quiet word saying how it got there: GPS, GPS, edited or typed in.
- Every photo and video, each with its fingerprint.
- What was said in each video, written out. The recording is the record; the words are a copy you can check against it.
Kept on our server, never shown
- The exact GPS spot. It’s stored on the sealed record and never goes on the page, the paper or the link.
- Your email. It’s how you sign in, not part of a Vouch.
GPS says where the phone was. The word next to the place says whether a person changed it.
The ID is open. The paper points back to it.
The open ID
- Any sealed Vouch opens from its link or its ID. No account, no app, no expiry.
- Typed a letter wrong? The ID box offers the close match. It never guesses for you.
- IDs never use O, 0, I, L or 1.

The paper
- Every Vouch prints as a report, with what was said in each video.
- Every page carries the ID and the address of the live record.
- The paper is a copy. The live record is the real one. If they ever differ, the live one wins.

What we don’t claim.
A record is only worth what it honestly says. So here’s what a Vouch is not.
Not signed or certified
Files are fingerprinted, not signed. Nobody certifies a Vouch.
Not tamper-proof
It’s tamper-evident: a changed file shows. That isn’t the same as impossible to change.
No blockchain
The record lives in our database, locked after the seal.
Not proof of who, or who owns it
A Vouch shows a thing at a moment. It doesn’t check the person or the paperwork.
Not an inspection
It shows what the camera saw. It isn’t a mechanic’s report.
Not a “verified location”
GPS says where the phone was. If a person changed the place, the page says so.
Not proof the phone wasn’t tampered with
The app can only film live. A Vouch can’t prove the phone itself wasn’t changed, or that nobody filmed a screen.
